Departing Perth once a month we drive north to the famous wine region the Swan Valley were we visit a winery and even a brewery (time permitting).
Now we head straight to Yanchep National Park where we have the opportunity to see koalas and other Australian native wildlife up close and personal.
We can take an optional tour time permitting to explore Crystal Cave.
We need to engage our 4WD now and head for the coast to Wedge Island
(subject to no live firing in Defence training area, alternative routes will be used in case of live firing)
to get to the beach where we have a BBQ lunch on the beach.
We make our way through a 4WD Track to view the captivating, majestic and mysterious desert of the Pinnacles,
with ample time given to wander through the limestone spires located in Nambung National Park.
Once we have absorbed the splendour of this place we will head to higher ground overlooking the desert at sunset while enjoying a cold drink.
We depart the Pinnacles after sunset and we head to a nearby bush camp
where we can enjoy a good meal around a bonfire and experience an Aussie Damper.
This morning we head North to Cervantes, a small fishing village,
stopping on route at Wildflower Hill to enjoy a profusion of wildflowers (in season).
Leaving the Cervantes we head further north to a 4WD-only track to explore The Stockyard Gully Caves
which are one of Western Australia's fascinating secrets.
The main cave is 300 metres long from entrance to entrance and sports a sandy bottom.
Two shorter caves are accessible for those who feel adventurous; and the final cave has no exit.
The caves are part of a fascinating ancient below-ground river system.
This part of the Outback is not explorered by any other tour operators
which means you will have ample time to explore and experience the caves system without any tour coaches.
We leave this secret place and head south back toward Cervantes.
We enjoy lunch on the way back, away from any other tour buses in the Australian Outback.
This afternoon we head back to the coast where we head off-road enjoying some sand dune driving.
We are soon off the sealed roads and heading for the bumpy bush tracks and sand dunes around Lancelin for some 4WD fun.
Keep watch for kangaroos, emus and wildflowers as we bounce down the track toward the majestic pure white Lancelin sand dunes.
Out onto the dunes, a few heart stopping rides down steep sides of these huge sand ‘waves’ in our 4WD truck.
Back into the vehicle we make our way off the dunes and into our last stop for refreshments
before we finally make our way back to Perth.
Our return to Perth takes us through coastal bush, coastal towns and farmland
towns and farmland where we can enjoy our last chance to see kangaroos and emus in the wild.
We make our way through the Swan Valley where we can explorer and indulge in
a winery, brewery, rum distillery or chocolate factory (time permitting).
We normally arrive back to Perth between 6.30 and 7.00pm.
Please be sure to wear comfortable footwear, bring a hat, swim suits, drink bottle, sunglasses
and plenty of film and batteries to capture your own memories of this outback adventure.
